I have a mental block. Need help creating categories for middle/high school crowd dealing with Internet stuff. For example some of the categories I have listed:

Arcade sites, Proxy sites, Chats, Forums, Blogs, online applications...

but I'm stuck. Want to help brainstorm and come up with other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Do a search for social networking directories and entertainment directories that should help.

I think you should search for categoires in dmoz directory, and add the categories with the most numer of links. So the most popular categories of dmoz should you add in your directory, I did it on seodir.net :)

It's tempting to try to copy the Dmoz or Yahoo directory categories, but they are usually far too detailed. Take a look at them for inspiration by all means, but don't go overboard in building categories. It's better to start with a few and expand as you need to, rather than having hundreds of empty pages. When you do that it's also much easier to figure out which subcategories you will need, because you will have the websites to put in them.
