    Here is my problem!!

    1) Visitors enter the funnel on this page: http://www.examplewebsite.com/STORE...gi?example@gmail.com+NEW+NEW+sftt4561+FALSE+1

and the funnel is looking for a regex match of "NEW\+NEW"

    According to the tracking

8 people enter the funnel - 7 leave - ok that would be fine in theory except that...

    2) Goal funnel step 2 is this page
    -
    https://secure6.examplewebsite.com/...tdocs/examplewebsite.com/STORE/checkout.shtml

    regex match on "NEW_MEM\+TRUE"

55 enter the second step in the funnel, but you can't get to the second step without taking the first step

    46 leave on this step

    3) but then 22 enter on the goal page:

    https://secure6.astm.org/cgi-bin/So...stordr.html?T+mystore+sftt4561+1253227700+NEW

    Regex match on "\bpostordr\b.*\bNEW\b"

but you can't get to the third step (goal page) without taking the second step

So the question is why / how are people popping in and out of the goal funnels like this??

Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

    :)

If a visitor completes the first step and then goes away, then they return another day, do they pick up where they left off? If so, they could be entering the funnel at that point.

Can't say what your problem is, but there has something wrong with either your logic or techinical side, for this is not how my funnels behave. Might have something with subdomain switching to do (specially from http: to https: ) but I have a website which incorporates this switch, and the funnels still work (good enough, this happens at times still though but nothing noticable like you have)
