Are you using a Keyword tool for your adwords Campaigns?

I am just curious, I am trying to find the keywords myself for my adwords campaigns, but I think I will get Keyword elite, or Keywords Analyzer.

Anyone using them?

Anyone doing good without any tool (even wordtracker)?

I'd like to know who is using:

* Keyword elite
* Keywords Analyzer
* wordtracker

Do you think that I am wasting my time and I should buy Keyword Elite ASAP?

I find the Overture keyword tool pretty good for suggesting relevant keywords.

 

Google's keyword tool works pretty good.

 

I'm not familiar with Keyword Elite or Keyword Analyzer but I do use Wordtracker and am very satisfied with it. While it is possible to use no keyword tool at all and be somewhat successful, even the most intelligent person will not consider all of the keywords possible and all of their variations. Plus, because Wordtracker shows the number of searches in a given time period, you can see what terms are the most popular, which are often not the terms I've expected.

I would definitely recommend Wordtracker, and recommend it over the keyword tools in google and overture.

Just a little tip for the Adwords Keyword Tool - I've found that unchecking the "Use synonyms" box really helps to zone in and target your specific topic. Don't get me wrong, those synonyms are handy sometimes, but there is alot of garbage as well.

 

No I don't think that these tools will help you, they will just make you lost important time integrating it with your adwords account. Just use Adwords keyword tool.

You have the advantage that you will not add repeated keywords to different adgroups and distribute keyword quality score power for the same keyword in different ad groups.

 

I don't know why many people in SEO forums despise SEO and
keyword software. OH well, here's my thoughts:

I use Keyword Elite, wordtracker and keyword locater.

I'm planning to get Keywords Analyzer and Keyword discovery (later on).

Keyword Elite and Keyword Locater is great for niche market research
and finding open bid spots for adwords. Keyword Elite, I believe is much
more complex and you'll build a bigger keyword list through mutiple
steps.

However, I use keyword locater time to time for the simplicity and
a broad view of a market or keywords.

Wordtracker is great for expanding your keywords, viewing your
competition and getting them ready for SEO. Wordtracker is for
SEO mostly so I recommend you take care of your PPC campaigns
first. I personally think Wordtracker is a MUST HAVE later on.

If I had to pick one, I would go with Keyword Elite although it its
more expensive. I think the extra research tools will more than
make up for it. The support and updates are also great. There has
already been 4-6 updates. Then I would get wordtracker.

I've also heard people say that keyworddiscovery is better than
wordtracker and finds alot of words that wordtracker misses so
I definitely want to try that out in the future.

Also if anyone has reviews for the products below, I'd appreciate it.

I always keep it checked - just ignore the garbage keywords.

a lot of times it give you great ideas like if you're promoting a loan company and enter the "loan" keyword it gives you the "I need money" idea that may help you.

I think its mainly because most if not all of the data that these tools spit out is freely available from various sources. It just bundled up in a more user friendly package with the programs.

 

That's a big misconception in my opinion.

Yes tools are freely available. But the paid keyword research tools
are for different purposes. I've found high value keywords that couldn't
be found with overture search tools, good keywords, digital point,
jim's tools, etc.

I know alot of people will agree that it's more about quality keywords
instead of quantity keywords. But I've also found that these paid
softwares found alot of quality (and quantity) keywords that could not be found with regular tools.

I also do alot of affiliate marketing with ppc, and locating bid gaps and openings is incredibly important to me. That feature just isn't available in
free tools.

And most importantly, TIME. I hate to sound like some kind of salesman
here but time is money and the free tools give you less keywords per
time invested in research. The softwares will cut your time by at least
300% or more in my opinion.

For everyone that's reading. I'm not saying you NEED these tools.
In fact, work with the free ones until you start making some money.

But I highly recommend you BUY 2 or 3 of them after you start
bringing in some revenue. I used to be one of those people who
thought the free tools were enough but was blown away when
I purchased a couple of them.

 

Chris is Right.

Brainstorming Functions, Advanced Filters allowing multiple strings that really break down enormous keyword lists into lots of niche lists, Related Term Searches, SEO Scanning, integration with Keywords Discovery and Wordtracker, multi-level searches, ...bringing a lot of data and even your competitors ads into the interface to analyze, export and manage.

I would agree that free tools can get you started. Like Chris said you can get by until you have revenue to where you can invest in one... By using free keyword tools you are getting no real competitive advantage; truly. Your competition are probably using the same tool or have what you uncover covered. And there is no way you can do the complex, deep keyword research you can with a quality tool.

I've been using 'Keywords Analyzer' for a couple of years. The software will pay for itself very quickly.

As a matter of fact I use several.

 

I usually use google selector, but complement with overture when goolge doesn't produce satisfactory results for some words. I'd like to try some other, more complete application but didn't decide yet.

btw, I've heard that the popularity tool of gogle selector is not reliable. Is this true?
