Are you switching off your lights?

This is really a stupid idea .. if u turn ur lights off for an hour and rest of the day u keep them turn on for useless things .. actually it will be gud if u pledge to turn off ur lights when there is no need of it !!

 

The place where I live is prone to power cuts and the state government itself is forcing almost all of its residents to go without power for almost 2 hours a day. Hence, there is no point in celebrating the earth hour in our context as we practice it on a day today basis. It is only for those people who don't know what is a "power cut" or "load shedding"

 

I will be turning off everything!

 

I don't believe in such gimmicks. Though I participate actively in doing most of them discussed above.

 

We should save it daily by switching off all the appliances which are not to be used.

I switched off my lights for 5 hours last night when I went out and had dinner with friends using an electric oven, microwave, lights, music etc..does that count??

 

I have mine of at the moment and I'm half way though the hour. Can hardly see my keyboard lol

 

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Answered it so many times already. I dont know why this is such a big issue...You want to save energy tell google to take their thousands of servers down for a day.

 

You're right, why is it specifically 8.30-9.30 pm? Anyways, we turn off the lights daily for 1 hr maybe sometime.. Instead, they should have asked us to Turn off the lights for 1 hr anytime in the day

Rush is always right. Only environmental wackos will turn their lights off!!

 

And 5 minutes later, everybody goes about their own business and, in the morning, no one remembers anymore. Another pointless moment.

 

Same condition here in Pakistan too

 

I am turning off everything. lighting some candles and reading a book. It's an hour people and it's to show that we are willing to change things and do something to help save the planet.

 

Unfortunately didn't realise it was happening until now, and its too late for where I live!!

 

Yup, I turned off all the lights last night. My neighbours also did the same.

Nah... I am not gonna switch off my lights. My light ain't gonna help earth.

 

I'm going to yell at my girlfriend to turn the lights off. That should save the world plenty of energy.

 

We had a bunch of ppl lose power because of snow, they turned their lights off for me

 

We already generate a large quantity from solar panels and use efficient appliances.
