I know everyone says that there was was no actual battle between the two during the cold war but in my opinion i think that the two countries fought it out through other countries. What it seems to me is that if America was at war with a country the USSR would help out that country and vice versa. For example when the U.S. went to war with Korea the USSR helped out North Korea with tanks planes and more crucially land to air defense which really caused the U.S. trouble. and when the USSR invaded Afghanistan the U.S. helped train and supply afgan fighters to be able to put up some kind of resistance. They did this through CIA special activities division. What do you guys think?
Which wars? Vietnam and Korea? The only reason the US went into both of those wars was to stop communist annexation of the south. Both North Vietnam and North Korea had the backing of the Soviets and Chinese. Our stinger missiles probably turned the tide towards the Afghans.
YES, its obvious. And its happening now as well, sometimes (Georgia, Venezuela, Iran for example, but with much cooler conditions except Georgia conflict in August). Did you just wake up?
