There are some really silly 'old wives tales' and superstitions woven into the fabric of English life. Examples that I know are: 'if you pick dandelion flowers you will wet the bed', 'a black cat crossing your path is bad luck', 'it is unlucky to walk under a ladder', 'lucky to kiss a chimney sweep on your wedding day'. There are loads more. What superstitions do you know from your area of the world? Ani
yes too much. What about you. Well at the same time i know it is all in my mind sometimes i create my own superstitions.
and yes I think sometimes I create superstitions too........ like on here I am beginning to think no-one wants to talk to me as I do not get many replies to my posts! Maybe I am just trying to create the wrong types of conversation. What do you think. I really would like to talk to more people about lots of things! What superstitions do you pay heed to?
I think it will hit you at some age, most of the older people I know have told me the same thing .. wait a lil bit more then
I am not very superstitious, you have to create your own luck! Probably as you grow older, you become less superstitious.
But.......if you believe in creating luck then you must be superstitious about things......just a little.......isnt being lucky or unlucky a superstition? I believe we can shape our own destiny and fate is what we end up with as the result of the choices we make. Isnt that also similar? A
I guess you are right! I do believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason. Too many things have happened in my life for me to not believe in that.
I used to be lot more superstitious in my younger days. One of the things which I clearly remember is to carry the same pen to write an exam paper if the first one with it have gone excellent! Regards, RightMan
