Are you setting goals in your online business?

When I first got into internet marketing, I would set these "stupid" goals that had no value.


Thinking back to what I had on my wall, I had goals like:
- make 10k a month
- buy a beamer
- blah blah blah


I soon realized that successful people don't set goals like those for their businesses.


For your business you should create an ultimate goal. You should then set tasks that will lead up to you accomplishing your ultimate goal.


Doing this really puts goal setting into perspective...

I'm setting goals but they are way higher than i could possibly do most of the time

 

Yes. Everyone sets his goals in life, whether for short-term or long-term. Successful people would not be that "successful" without setting a goal and planning it out.
Goal setting is important to succeed in life. Imagine how rewarding it is to achieve your goals.

 

Everyone is setting goals to him/her self. Maybe you just set a higher goal, and your capabilities cant match it.
Your BEST goal must be:
S: specific
M: measurable
A: attractive
R: realistic
T: timeline

or

S: specific; simple; significant
M: measurable; motivational; manageable
A: achievable; agreed upon; attainable
R: realistic; rewarding
T: time-based; timely; timed; track-able

if the goal is too challenging it is not realistic any more, and thus, not attractive.

My current aim is to earn $200 per month I am in deep shit ..

Yes, these were your goals. But you should change the types of goals. First the target of work. What will you do in the next 12 months, what will be in the next 6 months, what will be in the next 3 months and what will be in the next 30 days. That's something like short term goal, mid term goal and long term. This is the actual way of setting goals.

 

I dont set goals for results....I set goals for how much work I will do, then results automatically follow

Theres two types of goals I set for myself.

1. Being financially independent (HUGE difference, between financial freedom where you can buy anything eg: ferarri, a private jet, etc)
2. Realistic ones that keep me going, to hit #1.

I think for the long term developement, we can set goals according to the length of time, short time goal, Middle time goal and long term goal. We can set goals like one-week goal, one-month goal and one-quarter goal.

 

Yes, I am setting goals for my business too. And I believe everyone does, or at least should do. I set 2 type of goals:
1. Goals that should be reached every month
2. Goals that should be reached in one year.

So far it works for me

 

Feel, setting a Goal is important no matter its a Business or a Job. You need to time bound your self with a set of achievable goals (not hypothetical one) for your business. But make sure set a goal to your 200% to 300% achievable capability (you feel). Break your annual goals into small goals (for a quarter) and see the progress & performance after each quarter. Set the next quarter target with the progress achieved in the last one.

 

I saw forum topic where people say that they earn over 5.000$ monthly. And then i saw their post in second topic where someone post way how to earn 20$ daily, where they asking: is it working this methog? What is problem with that guys? Why they talking about earning 5.000$? Did someone earn a that money?

 

We always need a number in our goal, so we can get our own a good direction and specific goal to achieve.
Sometime goal need to be set high , if you can't achieve the goal but you atleast work hard to achieve 50% to 70% of the goal target. It make you achieve more than what you should achieve. just like your target maybe 100k and you set 150 as your goal.

Doing business with no goal usually fail most of the time. It just like you start to drive your car up but you don't know where you should arrive and what time you should reach .
