Are you self employed?

So I'm wondering who here at DP actually is self-employed and is their own boss full-time. I've just joined the self-employed world lately and its not bad. Hows it been going for you fellow self-employed people.

I am currently employed full-time, my short-term goal is to become a self-employed person through Web Development.

    I'm self-employed.

I love it, but I also kind of dislike it. But only because I only have to work for what I need. It's nice to overwork sometimes, not because you want to, but because you are required to by a "real" job. That gives you extra spending money.

I guess I just need more motivation for overworking :). But yes, I love it.

I'm self employed doing some freelance design, although wouldn't mind working for a media firm, hate having a boss, but thats a small price to pay doing something you love.

    Yep,
Same here coming up to 2 years self employed now. I work in IT as a consultant and do the web stuff part time.

The only problem for me is holiday and sickness, as we dont get paid i come to work no matter what is up with me and for holidays I generally take 2 weeks per year.

    Cheers
    Paul

I still have a job but I am currently looking to start a business, but even if I have my own business I will still keep my job as a fall back incase my business did not turn out so good.

I love freedom, but at the same time I have a job. It's great...for me, for my mind and for my figure. I'm not sitting at home near TV set with 1000 cakes.

Never had a job. Self-employed or self-unemployed I guess. I've wanted a job sometimes, but don't have the qualifications/experience to jump in at the level I want, and don't have the patience to work my way up through the ranks with a boss and rubbish pay.

This way I get freedom and as much money as I can make - what else could you want?

    Define self employed?

If working for your father at a hourly wage is part of this, then I am :)
