Are you scared of opt in pages?

Iv'e noticed on various marketing forums that many of the posters are very quick to judge a IM site, especially if the page has an opt in form.

They think its either a scam/spam or whatever but surely if they were serious about making money online they wouldn't be so quick to right it off and simply opt in or atleast not immediately say things like "what a bunch of bs" "im sure he makes 10,000...not"

Is there anything that would make you feel more comfortable opting in to a squeeze page?

What can we can do to gain your trust or are opt in pages just too scary for some:p

well.... Im not going to lie here... your website looks exactly like every scam page on the internet, and this post is a thinly veiled shameless plug for your website. those things dont exactly nurture trust.

maybe try making it a little less pushy, I feel like your page is yelling at me when I look at it.

The purpose of my post is to understand why some are relunctant to opt in to these types of pages and to of course improve my page.

I've learn so much valuable marketing information from opt in pages and you can unsubscribe at any time...perhaps its the way most of them are designed that doesnt look trustworthy?

The reason most are designed they way they are is because it works best ....however there must be a way to have the current typical design but some how gain the trust of people like you who are relunctant to opt in. Any suggetions would be appreciated.

If I don't know the site owner personally (Especially in the field of "internet marketing") I automatically tend to skip those offers.

If on the other hand I've seen the guy and know that he does a good job, I might sign up. Or - if a friend of mine recommends it. If the site provides good value, I might sign up. Some free offers might be tempting... but basically I usually skip them (or give a secondary email anyway)

(but bear in mind that this is only for "internet business" type of lists).

The best way in my opinion would be to try and do a joint venture partnership with a big name. That way people are more likely to opt in, if a big name is affiliated with your product.

Yep, good thinking - big names always help.
