yep i hate to admit, but i am. with them controlling so much of the search market, if they decide to dislike you, you definitely are f---ked. so i'm always monitoring what they require and trying to stay on their good side. on the few times i've got into an argument with them (mostly about sponsored ads), i've tried to keep it very calm and professional...

lot of people try to manipulate google algorithm to take shortcuts. i guess Google's best way of fighting them back is changing the algorithm once in a while. I dont think thats a wrong thing or anything to be scared of.

No need to scared. if your website is genuine that will be listed on search results rather they change their algo.

The simple reason could be Google is trying to curb spammers and in some cases they even consider those who are not intending to spam. Google is there to show search results and if you have done something wrong you need to pay for it.

Not scared. Been doing the same strategy ever since but none of their "algo changes" affected my site.

I hate to say, but without your business listed in Google today is scary. The good thing is, if you stay on the good site, Google will always give you a chance to be on top.

there's nothing to be scared of if you are not violating any of it's rules and your site has a lot of original content.

I am trying to do that, but not working at the present moment.

Feel that in there attempt to keep the spammers out there are some that suffer as well.

I don't think there is any reason to be scared of any search engines now that you do your sites honestly

When an entity is as big and dominant as google, there is no point in trying to force a fight with them. Adopt the methods and techniques that are genuine and within the tos of big G... and there would be no need to be fearful of them! :)
