Are you required to show ads on the site your coop ads link to?

For instance, say I have 3 sites, x, y, z. x and y are indexed really well by google, so I cover them in coop ads, then I put ads into rotation for site z. Is that allowed?

Basically, I figure that must be what some people are doing. Because I'm displaying ads to sites that have no ads at all that I can find. (except for AdSense ads.)

So, if that's the way the coop works, I'm just not sure what the advantage of that is for me. I could put up a whole bunch of junk sites, get them indexed, cover them with ads then point them to my good site. So, for me, that means there who knows what linking to me out there. I guess any link is alright, but it's just strange, I figured it would be a 1 for 1 trade, if I see a link to me, I can go to their site and see ads as well. It just makes me wonder, if people aren't willing to put up ads on their main/own sites, why am I doing it for them?

    Am I confused?

Yep you can run ads on one site and have other ads displayed in the network for other sites not displaying the co-op.
