Are you religious? Then you might be hypnotized. I might be wrong, if not then...

Well.. I've been thinking about this since I saw a show where a Hypnotist told people how he hypnotizes people, and he said that in order for him to gain control of a person the person has to be willing to be hypnotized, the person must also believe that they can be hypnotized. Once a person believes in hypnotism the hypnotist says "words" or things in a pattern to gain control of the person, once he's done that the hypnotist can tell a person what to do or what to think.

So... when I saw that I remembered preachers. Have you ever seen Christians speak in "Tongues"? If so, have you seen the Pastors of the churches with the people that can speak in tongues? Well all of them have one thing in common, they have this annoying high pitched controlling voice that just shouts out commands from the bible, and they shout out prophecies like "THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS COMING RIGHT NOW YOU WILL FEEL IT" and obviously the people that have read acts, know that when the "spirit" comes the "speaking in tongues" appear to the congregation but the thing that you never see, is people speaking in tongues with a pastor that does not shout like say... famous pastor Joel Osteen who always have this happy little smile and never screams.

Note that hypnotism has been proven to work, as people use it to quit smoking, relax, and quit fears. What do you guys think? Did I just discover the secret to preaching, or am I wrong?

To end this post I would like to give an example of what I mean.
If you are in a theater, and someone shouts "There is a fire!" what do you do? Do you just stay in the theater and keep watching the movie you were watching? Or do you get scared and leave the theater from the fear of getting burned?

Note:
I am not saying that pastors are hypnotists, I am saying that they can do that without even knowing it because the people from their churches are so desperate for a god that when a pastor says that god's spirit is coming they take it too serious and start speaking in tongues and doing all that weird stuff..

hypnotism is real. When I was in Cancun, there was a hypnotist there, and he did it to a group of people, and after the show I talked to them (they where picked outa the crowd), and they, really where, hypnotized lol.

Anyways, religion is psychology. By default when we are in trouble or "screwed" we want something to be there to help us, and for the week minded that is God.

As IQ rates are rising, religion rates are going down. Soon religion will be laughed at, racism will be gone, and everyone will be free from each other.

Either God is real, and he is an asshole, or God is fake. Decide that one for yourself.

 

i know a high schooler who recently git into hypnotism...he's already hypnotized like at least 6 people..

it sounds like your theory makes some sense ...the power of suggestion seems to be something both forceful preachers and hypnotism rely on...

 

So I'm like proud of myself now. Can you imagine "CNN BREAKING NEWS:"14 YEAR OLD BOY DISCOVERS SECRET OF RELIGION AND MAKES A THREAD ABOUT IT ON DIGITAL POINT FORUMS!"

Yes, I am 100% certain that will happen. The pope will probably want to make you an honorary saint as well. It is so simple, they are all hypnotized. Why did we not think of this before? Congratulations!

There's so much to the world around you, you'll discover them as you go along.

It may not be hypnotism, but it's something along those lines.
These people want to believe as you pointed out and they "need" the belief to provide them solace from their sorrows and troubles. The pastor gives them hope.

It's hope-notism not hypnotism.

You don't have to go to church to have a personal relationship with God.

 

I agree. Some people have made a daily routine out of prayer. A relationship with god must be special, rare and unique - not a rote ritual or a daily routine.
