Hi just a little poll to see how many gun folks we have here. Ive always enjoyed hunting and such but I have just recently gotten into shooting just for fun. I have 1 gun as of now, its an AK-47 semi auto, maid in Yugoslavia.

What Guns do you own, and if you dont like guns explain why.

I do not own a single gun, I however support my fellow Americans right to bear arms 110%

This goes for much more than 'collecting' and or 'hunting' as that isn't what the right to bear arms is all about ;)

Well said, that is very true.

I should have made a couple other choices like "Non owner Supports GunOwners rights" and maybe an option for "Gun Owner - Self defence"

I have a couple of shotguns, a .22, a 7 mm mauser (my grandfather brought it back from WW2, its german), and 2 handguns. Nothing tastes better in some chili than a little venison!

    This is my baby:

    http://www.kahr.com/PA-1B/review_ar_1004.html

Small, light, powerful. Can easily carry in my front pocket without it being noticeable at all.

My wife isn't a gun fan at all, but she does realize the importance of having protection, so gives me a pass.

    Nice,

My next investment will be a pistol, I'm not sure what i want though. I'm thinking of a nice big 44 cal revolver, long barrel, something intimidating.

    Yes, definitely "pro-gun"...

I don't remember who said it, but:

I certainly support the right to bear arms.

I really get irate when someone says how you don't need a gun in your own home, well if a burglar comes in and is robbing you or steals your kid, I am POSITIVE you would want a gun to shoot them.

Sure, there are a few cases about kids getting a hold of the gun in the home, or other stories, but overall it is definitely good to have a gun.

I have shot guns, and enjoyed it, but have never hunted.

    I don't own a gun either. So...

I used to own a double-barrelled shotgun for clays and rough shooting. Being in Britain it was heavily regulated. I had to have a licence and before I could get it I had to go through a lengthy police check (that took several months), belong to a gun club and have a secure, double-locked cabinet bolted to my wall.

Yes I enjoyed it, but I'm shocked at some of the comments on here. Weapons like Uzis were developed for one purpose only - to kill human beings. How could someone say they 'enjoyed' firing one? What sort of fantasy was going through their head? Saying you support the right to bear arms is the same as saying you support the right to kill people, after all what else do you do with a gun? If the American religious right can do ONE useful thing it can point out that there is a commandmant saying 'Thou shalt not kill'. No ifs or buts.

We've got a gun problem in Britain, but no one here reckons the answer is more guns! We don't even arm our police relying instead on special firearms units whenever they're needed.

Anyway I'm not going to get involved in a debate as you won't convince me and I won't convince the NRA members so this will be my only post on the subject. Just carry on shrugging your shoulders and saying "shit happens" every time there's a school shooting.
