Im losing quite a bit of money actually. I used to make 3 times as much with 5 times less clicks just a few months ago. Must be the smart pricing...
Great! Now it looks like im getting $0.02 per click... Il probably make more money with one crappy clicksor ad.
If you're not earning enough per click, you're not doing enough to attract people interested in buying from your advertisers. Stop focusing on getting as much traffic as possible, and instead work on getting GOOD traffic. If you're running 50 sites that are generating 10-30 cents per click (or worse!) focus on ONE site, any topic, and work on it every day with content that is attractive, interesting, unique and well written. Focus your content on making your readers interested in actually buying it or using it or who want more information so they can buy or use a product. Their clicks will turn into sales, and over time (much time, 18-24 months) your site will become known as a sales generator instead of a faulty site. Remember, AdSense is really an affiliate program, but instead of getting paid a small amount when someone buys, you get paid a small amount regardless. As your readers turn into buyers, you'll get paid better. I think a LOT of people are going to start seeing their average CPC going lower and lower as advertisers realize that a lot of AdSense sites are just chasing a click rather than creating interested customers.
One week ago today I had 1 click on 3327 impressions on a channell for the entire day. Today it is at 47 clicks averaging xx per click on 2740 impressions. It's damn hard to figure out!
I got few 1 cent clicks. I could not believe myself... .It would take 100 clicks to make 1 dollar…considering how many hours I spend on my sites I wonder how much my hourly wedge would be….
I experienced the same problem in the last 4-5 days with Adsense. My adds, impressions and CTR are the same but the amount I am making is 75%-50% less. I use to make $5-$4 on average I am making $1-$2 average now. Things have really changed in this business in the last month. Google indexings, weight dropping and now this adsense issue.
Im with adsense for a long time now. One of my sites in particular has been there for years and been generating a stable income. So whats the problem now? Smartpricing could be a problem... But yet again, i have a niche. People search for me on search engines etc When the trageted visitors end up on my site some decide to click an ad. These tend to be targeted as well... So if the advertiser cant convert targeted traffic its their own fault.
Don't you see this as a GOOD thing? In the past 12 months I have read about 6 articles in local newspapers about advertising online, have seen a few total computer newbies I know (at church and at work) who are monetizing terrible sites, and have seen more junk sites being built. Google is being pro-active AND re-active in trying to make sure that advertisers are happy. Advertisers. The people paying the bill. The most important people in the industry -- they are the consumers, and we are the producers. If you went to a new burger joint that charged you 50 cents only to give you directions to another burger joint, would you shop there? This is sort of how many monetized sites are. People go looking for a product, click a link only to go to another site with links, but no product. Good going, Google. I'm glad they're making sweeping changes across the board. When I use the Google search engine, I automatically go to page 3. The first 2 pages of everything searchable are SEO garbage links so often. I even set up my Google homepage to automatically start at page 3 on my home PC. I've told customers, friends and family to do the same. They're doing it and are happier with their searches. Almost every site I go to lately is becoming more of a Made for Adsense site than a site with valuable information. I don't think that is what advertisers necessarily want, not the ones who pay $1-$3 per click. Would you?
