I like Vista's new desktop themes, however, it's just too slow for me.

Fact, Leopard needs more resoures that Vista, but you don't realise that because your Mac comes with those specifications.

I'm using Vista for software development and honestly, I can't stand it. I'm not just going to rag on how much it sucks, but personally I've had too many problems with it. I usually have Visual studio open, running with dual displays, and Firefox with at least 10-15 tabs open as well as a few other applications. I find it's slow (I do have 2gb of ram... well actually 3, but right now vista only detects 2), and I get a message saying that "Windows explorer has stopped working" at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Also... trying to develop for windows Vista and the extra security can really be a pain.

I would choose XP over Vista any day, but thats just my 2 cents.

I have no experience with it, but as with every microsoft product, I'm waiting for a year or so before getting it, since no microsoft operating system has been a viable operating system until it's worked out it's kinks

(although NT did a pretty good job for it's time)

    I'm very happy with it!!

Love the new Start Menu with the search bar, when I want to open internet explorer, I just write "internet", and I can do that with all my apps. I don't have to use time to find it in "All Programs".

The browsing in folders are also faster because of the new folderlayout.

I got better performance in Photoshop, and also got better FPS in my favorite games (I don't understand people who say that the performance is bad, I'm running Vista from a laptop, and it runs very good).

No BSOD since I got Vista.

    Vista get's 9/10 from me :)

I'm not happy with Vista. I still prefer the good old WinXP or Linux. Windows Seven is just around the corner (to be released in late 2009 according to MS). Hopefully it will be better than Vista.

No, not at all. Vista does not have any good thing other than Graphics. It is not compatible with the hardware that is just 3 years old. Not compatible with certain software. It also requires more resources(RAM and CPU). Windows XP is the best.

I am honestly say I am happy with Vista.
Though at first I wasn't, but now I am since the release of SP1 because it made Vista more stable.

I think it's pretty but very chunky

I am happy with Vista but only because I essentially only use it on a laptop for web browsing. It crashes more than my XP PC and would not want to use it for more challenging tasks than a browser.

I've used it for over a year on my computer.

Runs very fast and got some handy features. Seems to run nicer than XP for me, maybe since it utilities both cores of my processor properly now.

I used Vista for about 6 months, and hated it... but the only reason why was due to software incompatibilities, if the OS doesn't run the software I need then I can't use it... if Vista ran all the software flawlessly then it'll be another story.
