Hello guys, I'm wondering how many Google Adwords certificated people are on this forum? Maybe we can share some ideas with ourselves and help each other for international campaigns... Just reply to thread with your country if you are certified
I used to be about 5 years ago, but then I let it expire as it made no difference to ppc management - nobody outside the business knows or cares what it is.
Yes, actually people (business man) or i must say your BOSS only wants the result using campaign and not the certification... Here i wanted to share my experience with you.... We being a Stock Advisory firm.. when we started Google Adwords, I was like 0% experienced in Google Adwords and zero knowledge in related field. When we started our first campaign in India.. it was purely like we were receiving clicks in INR 7. and Cost per conversion was INR 20 to INR 25. Here my boss thought to give the campaign to a google certified rather than giving a campaign to a fresher and here you will surprise on the performance. That Google certified person was giving Clicks in INR 20 and Cost per conversion was INR 45- INR 50. Now, you can just compare the result. So it is not like how many certifications do you have... but it is like how much results you can deliver.
Why should you be certified? To offer your adwords-managing services? I.e. that makes people believe you are a tough guy?
I think when you are new & know the adword well, the certification help people trust you and give you works/Projects. It can help you kick start your career.
Big businesses work with Google Adwords Certified people, its a certification to proove that you are an Adwords Pro but it doesn't mean you are the best its upon your marketing skills, creativity, and vision.
Well it depends on your budget, because if you are spending like $1000 monthly and the Adwords consultant takes %20 which is the highest commision he will take $200 monthly from you so he will be probably checking the ads once a week as he can't just concentrate on your ads therefore its better to learn Adwords yourself if you have small budget...
I would disagree there Nick. Lots of people know about it. Many specify that they want you to have it if you are to be hired. Agree that it doesn't make a difference. The certification only means you took Google's test and passed it, which is last time I checked, knowing the rules and knowing the interface. It doesn't mean you'll choose the right keywords or create high click rate, high QS ads. A lot like the CNE (Certified Novell Engineer) certification, at least my experience of it 15 years ago when a few CNE I met didn't seem to know a lot of the simple things. Google certification may get your foot in the door, develop trust and get you hired. But it doesn't mean you're good at it. Unfortunately, the perception of most people who know about it is that they'll get the best if you're certified. In the end, what you want from your manager is results.
Google certification is great if you have clients or are working at an agency. If not, then don't waste your time.
Well you are right amd what others saying here is also correct but getting certification id not all as in my views..QUOTE=extraspecial;17884974]Well it depends on your budget, because if you are spending like $1000 monthly and the Adwords consultant takes %20 which is the highest commision he will take $200 monthly from you so he will be probably checking the ads once a week as he can't just concentrate on your ads therefore its better to learn Adwords yourself if you have small budget...[/QUOTE]
I'm Certified in AdWords and Analytics. It teaches you the interface but designing good campaigns is a whole other beast.
