This is my first thread in digital point.

Hi to all the members here.

I have been in warrior forum for a couple of months and was refered here. What I have to say is Wow, it's really not bad here.

I have an unused domain for almost a year and I suddenly came out with an idea on putting up an entertainment site using it as I think it is quite a great brand name. I don't know how you think of it though.....:D

Well, I have set up the site with some contents and ads. Not fully completed yet as I am not very used to the administration of my site portal, I have some plans but a few honest and useful advices would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is my plan,
Entertainment is quite a general and wide topic so I need to specify to certain fields first. At this moment, I would begin first with movies and jokes slowly followed up by different fields.
I will have some members to post up their stories and pages. Just to add some free content and some interaction with the readers. Maybe forums. Hmm....

    Here is the url,

Is this your first site? Not too shoddy if so, I remember back in '98 my first site, and it was terrible!

Your design isn't too bad - obviously as you learn and improve you'll make alterations and tweaks to the layout to polish it from a rough gem into a diamond, and of course generate ad revenue!

The one thing you have to remember is that there are 10s of thousands of 'entertainment' sites out there - what makes yours different from all the rest? You'll only be successful if you can differentiate yourself from the crowd. When you visit your site, try to see it from the perspective of a normal user. Would you browse or bookmark the site? Personally, I wouldn't how it is now, because it offers nothing that other sites don't.

You may want to review how effective a site can be when the majority of the links on the front page lead to other sites. Also from a search engine perspective, you need to think 'would I as a search engine bot want to include this site in my index'? As your site mainly seems to link to stories on other sites, as a search spider I don't think I would.

Keep tweaking your design, get as much feedback as you can from friends, family, and online.. don't discount ANY advice that's given to you.. and most importantly get PLENTY of unique content on your pages.

    Hope this helps :)

    Hmm...
This is not my first site but it's one of the testing site of mine. I am not good in web site designing but I am trying to build one on my own.

Your reply was very useful. Thanks for it.
