Wise you are. That's also what I'm doing. Why rush for something which still has bugs and errors? (I flip if the computer screws up and I lose my work!)
Exaclty. XP works fine (kinda!) so I don't need vista. What I really want is a mac, but they are way too expensive in comparison to a PC
just set up a new system for a friend. I like the side panel and all the gagets for it. don't like the constant messages "are you sure..." but left them for friend to deal with. the old dell all-in-one printer would not load so went to the site and found that the program update for vista wouldn't be ready till May 2007. I'll wait
No Vista = Cpu drainage for you games and ram Min req is 2 Gb I own the ultimate copy and its rinsed off my other comps memory looks cool though
Windows Vista has a huge memory capacity. The install takes about 3 gigabytes (owing to a very large driver database, plus security) and likes to reserve a massive amout of 'virtual memory'. Because the Winows installation is so big, it also needs to reserve a tremendous amount of space for restore points. A 20 gig hard drive is now quite outdaded so Vista counts on a plethora of space for its functions, of which backup and restore are crucial. Windows Vista is designed for current hardware which means large storage space (hard drive capacity). I can give you lots more explanation for the new OS. It depends on your computer as to which basic programs can run, but mostly Vista has a very advanced program function that speeds up applications running in real time. It takes at least 512mb of memory and a dual core processor to take complete advantage of Vists, but if you have a processor of 2.0 gightz, you would get a very tight use, with little delay running 5 or 6 programs simultaneously. Please, ask anything and I will help. I have been runningVista RC1
I discovered a better reason not to upgrade to Vista. Microsoft expects to have its replacement out in 2009. If that is the case, then Vista may be Windows XP-ME and the actual new operating system will be the 2009 release. By that time they will have been able to test out the impact of the new security system and bring back into the system the things they had to remove just to get something out the door now. Investers would get awfully irritated if Microsoft did not have anything new to offer until 2009. Limited information Win-2009 is available at PC World
Had a look at Ubuntu - thought I'd try that on my next machine. Bundled with Open Office, it does pretty much everything I need. If it doesn't work out then I'll have to buy Vista.
Without Microsoft's promised software support, Apple.com would have been another parked domain today.
No-no to Vista. It has a lot of bugs which are yet to resolved. It takes up a lot of system resources and there are a lot of useless functions inside.
ive never bought a microsoft product in my life.. i see no reason to start now, not unless bill gates has magically made himself more intelligent than the entire warez community over night.
I plan to get Windows Vista when I get my new computer after valentines day. I find it cheaper to get it already on a brand new computer. But thats just me xD
