i did buy it and also got a free copy with a new laptop but i no longer i it installed on any system. It was ok but need xp pro installed plus i have windows 7. Windows 7 feels be better and would buy this over vista
I think people are sometimes a little unfair about Vista. It isn't perfect, especially in pre-SP1 guise, but it does have its good points. Compared to XP or 9x versions of Windows, it's certainly a lot more secure. It tries to do all the pretty Aero stuff to make it compete with OS-X. I've been using Windows since 95, and I can remember how truly unstable the old versions of Windows were. Apart from slow speeds on file transfers, and a few problems with compatibility in the very early days, I haven't had anything like the issues that I used to have, or continue to have with Linux.
Yes i do think the same it's not as bad as people make out it's just i need XP pro as that's what am training on.
I didn't buy Vista. It was installed in a computer I bought. After getting the admin rights correctly set up for a home business it is bareable. Not something I would buy on purpose.
Whoever bumped this thread needs to start with a Windows 7 thread now. Anyways, i tried Vista and it was bad. Then I moved to Windows 7 and after initial problems, I think it's the best OS from Microsot yet.
Vista is no doubt that OS which consumes loads of RAM. i already purchased it with my Laptop and can say this that vista is well organized but very very slow... can be better with RAM upto 3 gb. Go for windows 7 guys..
Vista is indeed an amazing, fabulous and leave you speechless. Its full of features and excellence. I mean how much effort will there be in the making of it. I am just very impressed and looking forward to its next version. For now I am using it and enjoying its speed nd quality. For those who havent switched to vista yet I will suggest them to switch from Xp or what ever OS you using switch to VISTA, you will love it and will be much happy to see so user friendly and cool looking platform. But for gamers windows vista is not very suitable as the game usually get slow and heavy dont know why, if any one knows it, he is very welcome to share it with us. Thanks and Regards, Sheikh Ahsan
Vista is good, if your computer sucks you have a bad experience I tryed XP on my laptop with dual cpus and it seemed as if it only used one because it lagged but I can vista w/ aero enabled and there is no lag at all.
I am concerned with games. I just say that XP and VISTA both are from microsoft but why there is a difference when games are played on them. Vista is bit slow in games and XP is very smooth. I dont know if there is problem in my 13 gaming computers as I own a gaming zone! Cheers!
VISTA is the most bloated of all of Microsoft products, it is so bloated that it requires a DVD to hold it. Check out http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ to see all that can be included with an operating system in less than 50MB total.
Personally.. I think VISTA should be slaughtered with a blunt axe, quite possibly the WORST OS ever built.. waste of my money, time and well.. TIME!
I got Vista with my new laptop around 1 yr ago! At the beginning, I wanted to swap it to XP, but i was told that there will be a problem in getting XP drivers! Time passed by, and i like VISTA now for its appearance, but at the same time I hate for its slowness and frequent crashes. I would love to test Windows 7
I have XP on all my machines ... BARRR ONE! The Laptop came pre-installed with Vista Home Premium and you should have seen the amount of fuss i kicked off with in the PC World Store. Poor Staff do not even know what they are talking about selling and run of guides (useless guides, might i add) and still they had me giving them at least 10 reasons why no Vista! * Its Bloated * Its not going to like my XP Programs (WHY Spend More Money?) * Its UAC is very annoying and the list goes on.... ~ Mike
