I am quite happy with XP. Though, I still have a lot of love for 98. My computer isn't good enough to run Vista. So, I will upgrade to Vista when the DX10 gets worked out, and I can afford a new computer that will actually work well with the system hogging OS.
I really don't see the point in buying Vista at least until the first service pack is released and all the bugs removed. Even then I don't really have the cash. No dount I'll be forced to upgrade sooner or later though...
A lot of reviewers have said there isn't much benefit to getting Vista right now if you are currently running XP with all the updates. I won't go out of my way to get Vista for my current system but I'm in the market for a new computer so... if I decide on sticking with a PC, I'll have it soon enough. I might even hold off until Vista has been out for a little longer and the kinks (as they come up) are worked out.
Since I’m a student taking a IT course I can burn a CD with Vista and install it on my PC legally. All I have to do is get it from my UNI and Microsoft will give me the code
I don't see the point in buying Vista at least until all the bugs removed with service packs. Even then I don't think that i'm changed XP to Vista, even i've had the cash.
I'm waiting until: - Vista has been out for at least a year, - There have been at least 2 service packs, - Friends tell me it's just as compatible as XP, AND - I get a new laptop!
I have recently bought a new Toshiba Tecra A8 Lappy and its already loaded with Vista Business. So no need to buy.. I think its worth buying i liked the new looks.
Hey, Proxyhub, I got really interested. What is so disappointing about Vista that made you decide not to buy it?
I will get vista in a year or so once all the driver compatibility is sorted out and a few service packs implemented.
No I'm sick of upgrading. Like trafficnotice I will only be getting a new one when I get a new PC or laptop will given we have a new one won't be for awhile particularly in that PC development is leveling out unless some new way to avoid the overheating problem is invented.
My current laptop is two years old and I hope to get another two year out of it before considering the latest and greatest "golly, gee whiz, got-to-have it product" on the market. By then, hopefully Microsoft has worked out the VISTA kinks or finally surrendered everything to Google and closed up shop.
