Are You Getting Tons of Traffic But No Sales? This is one of the most common question I hear from internet marketing forums. Here, I’m going to shed some light on why getting tons of traffic does not equal to making tons of money online. In a recent webinar I attended, it focuses on generating tons of traffic using pay per click from Google Adwords, Yahoo, Bing and the secret here is …. A large part of online traffic could come from India and Philippines where majority of them does not have credit card on hand to buy your product or whatever offer you have. Think about it, you could have the best product online and most hungry crowd in front of your website, but without a credit card, there will be no sale! However, this problem could easily be solved by targeting countries which have proven purchasing power. Most search engines that offers pay per click campaigns allows you to do some country targeting easily. For those who are doing contextual ads including banner and text, you might want to focus on the demographics of your traffic. In the past, I used to think how the heck can Google determine the age, gender and even interest of the visitors? Are they using some voodoo or black magic? The secret is Google can do that and the “magic†is all those data that Google collected when you signed up for their free email service….. And this applies to all the free email services from yahoo, hotmail, aol etc…. So by matching your product offer to the demograhics of your visitors, you will be filtering some traffic and your conversion rates will defintely improve. And yes, don’t forget to test. Always test your traffic with your offer and make sure you do generate some sales before investing huge dollars into the campaigns. Hope this post help you to get a better targeted traffic. Any other ways to generate more sales? Will love to hear your comments.
Geo targeting is very important when it comes to campaigns. I lost a fortune on my first few campaigns. Another important aspect is to test your landing pages.
Testing of landing page! Yes, this is so true.... Sometimes, you can double or triple your sales by just simply changing the headline. Why? Because if the headline does not capture your visitors in 5 seconds, they will click the back button and leave your site for good. Another way is to put an opt-in list and capture your visitor name and email so that you can follow up with them forever with other offers. Most people will not buy a product on their first visit to your site. According to the rules of marketing, a person will need to be contacted 7 times before they will buy a product.
targetted traffic + landing page that is designed to convert. if someone has a lot of traffic that dont convert, then the traffic is not targeted and/or there is so call for action on the site. visitors simply dont know what to do on the site and where to go to buy. landing page should have that call for action otherwise no conversion
targetted traffic is important. But any more skills to improve the convert ratio? As i have such problem with my site, it has high traffic, but not good sales.
If you have high traffic and no sales, you are not pre-selling correctly. Note I said presell. This means you don't try to sell. You just talk about the product, give a review, or whatever. Being good at preselling can mean the difference between a 1% conversion rate and a 20% conversion rate. That is all.
Traffic correlates will sales but: (1) correlation is not strong as people think it is; (2) correlation does not establish causation. Quality of product, offline advertising techniques, etc.. will also be important in determining sales. For example, http://www.zombo.com/ but gets no sales.
Good details are containing in the post to increase web traffic plus generate the revenue from the website.
I totally agree Geo targeting is a key, not all people have the same spending habits, even in big markets expl: US - people are just not buying before, before the recession.
