Are you gearing for Solid State Drives?

With some of the latest technology that we have today, there is always something new on the block. Of course, solid state drives is not something new to us, but it is still not widely available in the market.

However, surprising Sony and Dell have made a rather brave move to include these flash drives into their product range (you can see the link to the article above).

Personally, I have been wanting to get hold of one of these drives, and replace my mechanical, noisy hard disk drives that has been on my laptop for years. It would be great; except for one thing, it's not readily available in the market - or perhaps, available at an exorbitant price!

I would expect the price of such drives to drop within the next couple of years - but would you wait for the price to drop? Or simply purchase off from the PC manufacturers, which beautifully packaged these drives for you - but at a price.

They've been talking about this for years, but it's still not available at a price most people can afford. It's kind of like true 64-bit computing. These are both advances that would revolutionize consumer-level computing, but because we can't get everyone to adopt at once no one is adopting.
