I found sites that stolen my work without back link to my site and without my permission.I only send report to their host and company registrar to their abuse department. After 1 month waiting no follow up from hosting and the registrar company.Then I started posting about this problem into my site and got a response from my visitors,some of them suggest me to shutdown the site and some visitor said just let them on. And today I got email from somebody who claimed owner the site and he said sorry and have delete all contents from my site ( i see all my work has gone). And then in other email he said want working together with me (he will paid me) to create contents for his site. If you have situation like mine,what are you doing? Accept his offer or deny it?As we know he was a thief,can we trust webmaster like this?
The company I work for has had page layouts (graphics and the HTML ) stolen and in one instance, the thieves forgot to change our alt tags ( some of which had our company name and product names). They also stole sections of our content and replaced our company name with theirs but they kept the same product and service names. We usually just contact the company, talk civil and they remove what was copied/stolen. 9 times out of 10, the company isn't aware (or, let on that they aren't aware) and blame their web development firm. We weren't ever hurt financially so we've never pursued legal action or put too much time/effort into it.
