Since Microsoft have installed Live Search as the default on IE7, and are apparently going to push the update through to all XP SP2 users in mid november, do you think that the traffic from MSN/Live will go up?

It's pretty much a given. How much will remain to be seen.

I do hope so, slices eaten off Google's pie can only be a good thing. MSN is converting well for me at the moment.

I doubt it. They allow people to choose the search engine so most will choose google. Also most users already have a default search engine and the new browser will just inherit that.

Vista is still a long way off... talking about conversions from MSN, are the keyword costs the same as on YPN and Adwords or are they lower?

Predominantly lower and less competition but it's catching up fast.

How about adding 'I don't know' in the poll? Because I really don't know. I don't get much traffic from MSN right now - so I am really not sure whether there will be any surge or not!

Google is soooo much harder than any of the other engines... I guess that is why their king. Is this IE 7 Gate's attempt to compete in the search engine market?

It seems MSN is taking more & more of the Pie IMHO they will pass yahoo
in the forseeable future, With IE7 & Vista this will only gain momentum :)

I definately think MSN traffic will increase for me. The only reason I get slightly more traffic from Google than Yahoo at this point is Adwords. Otherwise Yahoo would be #1 for me, and it's a tight race between Google and MSN for #2 and 3.

And, seeing as how over 90% of the traffic on one of my sites uses IE, I can't see how search traffic from MSN will not increase with IE 7 with Live Search.
