Ok firstly a dumb question..what are proxy servers? And I see a few people making money with affiliate programs using proxy servers...how do they do it?

Thanks man but the thread is a bit too advance for me and I need to know what proxy is and if it really can be used to make money on affiliate programs..is this a blackhat method?
