I think the best way to compensate someone you like AND encourage advertisers to keep using monetizing networks is to click ads when you're planning on a purchase. Show the advertiser that the ads work (and convert). Otherwise, don't click an add just to give someone a few pennies -- it could work against them if the monetizing network decides they're fraudulent clicks.
you hit the nail on the head! absolutely right. Maybe this is what i had in mind when i posted this thread. I am going to buy some domain names and hosting, so it was obvious for me to click relevant sites. But we should get into the habit of clicking just for someone's benefit , that will just kill this industry in no time. Thanks again for driving that point home.
I will click on an ad if it interests me. I never do it just to earn the webmaster a couple of pennies. Afterall, I'm a consumer too and sometimes if the product is good I'll even buy it. Bruce
I'm a user who can't see ads. my brain turns them off when I see it. I dunno why. The only time I press on ads is if I'm clicking on the page and one pops up right before I click.
i visit ads if they are relevant to my syudy at that instance .am not finding any resonable answer to ignoring adsenses behind jealous that someone is making money.
Very interesting responses here. To be honest, I don't think I have ever clicked on an Adsense Ad. However, I have wanted to on my site a few times, since the actual contents of the ad interested me enough...but alas, I could not.
I click ads because I know it gives the webmaster $... I'd rather give that webmaster $ then leave it with google, and I expect people to be generous with me too ! Well I don't click randomly... I actually click if it's interesting.
I never, ever click an ad. Totally paranoid that I'll mindlessy click an interesting ad on one of my own sites one day if i get into the habit of clicking any ads anywhere else. But, egad, I actually accidently clicked an ad on one of my sites today. Holy crap. My PC is slooooow, and sometimes the browser scrolling is rather jerky. So I go to click one of my nav links and right at that moment the page scrolled up and an AdSense ad was right under the cursor when I clicked. Ahhhh! So paranoid about G's draconian measures, I emailed them right away and told them the long stupid story and asked them to please remove the earnings from that one click, probably all of about $0.10. Pathetic, eh?
Click if your interested. That's what ads are for. I don't want people clicking my ads on someones site for any other reason than they are interesting in the product or service I'm offering.
ofcourse thats why all advertisers put ads in first place. But sometimes someone goes on a click spree and you end up in trouble. Just yesterday someone came to one of my blogs and clicked all the 4 top links in one shot! Its alright as long as it happens once in a while, but frequent visits like this sure is a ticket to google club for banner publishers
