I agreed here. We are all have to do the works first to get the goal, in the mean time, we need god to support us to finish the works.:)

I believe in myself and a god like entity.

If you can't get it done yourself, don't expect god to do it for you.

I believe in myself, if I was waiting for god to pay my bills or if I had to read a book to work out what I am supposed to be do, then I would hope I was committed to a psychiatric ward ASAP

    Oh... ok

Warning: You currently have no means of invisible support :D

But wouldn't you pray or atleast hope for a miracle when something is happening that is totally beyond your control?

    Wait... what?

You would be better off sticking to the correct name of the book ie Bible Quaran, but blinkers could work;)

    Nope.

Atheist here. Religions were made up, when there was a huge lack of world knowledge.

The lack of knowledge was a cause to declare the inexplicable, a long time ago and for some still is. Nowadays most of the inexplicable is explained.

I can't figure your second sentence.

True. Though at least those people 2000 years ago had an excuse, they knew no better. People today have no excuse. their belief is grounded in fear, obedience and tradition, Three things that require no thought what so ever. So having a belief system where all that is required is unquestioning obedience and credulity is right up their street.

I mean, Look at pingpong; He thinks the fact that atheists believe there is no afterlife in some way supports the existence of his invisible friend. He isn't saying he believes through knowledge, understanding and logic. he is saying he believes through wishful thinking and fear.

He wants there to be an afterlife, so he simply believes there is one; which is the most infantile way of forming a conclusion i have ever seen.
