No, I believe that "god" (interpret that as you will), is a creation of humanity to explain things that cannot be explained with current science. The current monotheistic religious trend is just a logical continuation of human religion (from shamanistic beliefs, to polytheistic and no monotheistic).

Discounting religious anthropology, from a purely personal point of view, if there was a all powerful and "good" being controling everything (or at least influencing everything), the world would not have as many problems. Religion (which in and of itself is not bad), is just a creation used by a select group of people to control the rest of of people. As mr. marx said "religion is the opiate of the masses".

That being said I do believe in humanity... that is good.

 

I am a Buddhist and according to Buddhism one should not waste time thinking about God is there or not, because the question will never be answered. So many thing will prove God is there and so many things will prove God is not there. So friend one should not waste time debating where there is no answer!!!

 

I dont believe in god at all and I never will. I am starting to believe in myself though which has taken a long time.

But just because I dont beleive in god doesnt mean I dont respect other peoples decision to.

Actually these are two different subjects to belive in God is not as to believe in yourself. To believe in God is related to religion. But to believe in yourself means to be confident and have confidence in/with yourself. So, these things are not to be compared because we all may believe in ourselves but we might have different religions. I believe in God, and I believe in myself and without believing in God you are and will always be missing a thing in/with yourself.
