Are you being affected by the stock market fall?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by cowsgonemadd3, Oct 12, 2008.

So about every day the stock market falls. The question is are you being effected by it or do you see others being effected by it?

Are you seeing more and more people without money or out of work?
What do you think should happen to help fix the problem?

My investment in stock is very low.. So I do n't need to worry about it

But I am worried about ordinary retail investors who must have invested heavily...

Now and then there is a talk of companies firing out people.. do n't what would happen..

I don't hold stocks at the moment but the most depressing thing is seeing some else whom you know out of job. I have a friend who live in my neighborhood and he's a car sales. In this troubled times, it's practically almost impossible to make any sales when people consider car as redundant item.

I think the stock market fall is only the secondary effect. The primary concern is the liquidity crunch that seemed to be spreading worldwide. That has the effect of causing far more grave concerns than that of the stock market. Stock market fall affects the investors. The liquidity crunch effect the general population as a whole, causing from what I know, a lot of families to tighten their belts and to cut down on unnecessary luxury items or services.

Short Selling is good during only Bear Runs..

It won't work in Bull Periods in stock market..

Always you need a balanced approach in stock market.. you need to get your investments as diversified as possible..

As Far as liquidity crunch is considered..Central banks in all the countries are taking some good concrete steps..

In India RBI is taking some good steps so we do n't want to worry:D

Well, I guess we will all be affected indirectly but the exact level will vary. I don't have any stocks so no I'm not affected directly and find it all rather funny. Financial markets have risk, they are making money out of nothing, its a vacuum, these things need to happen to reset the game so to speak.
