Are you allowed to include screenshots of other sites??

    Hey,

    Is it illegal to post screenshots of other sites or not? For example a step by step guide to buying a domain on namecheap, or do you need the sites permission.

    I have never heard of anyone having any issues so I would think it would be ok unless your posting something that is for paying members only.

    It would just be doing step by step guides, nothing which you have to pay for (apart from domains and hosting).

    There are some paid website thumbnail service provider and they dont face any issues too so i doubt any1 cares that much in this regard

    as long as the page you screenshot is viewable by ANYONE then you'll have a secure case. the site might even thank you for it if you create enough traffic for them. So yeah, screenshots which don't say anything negative = good.
