    You're allowed to buy products, but you will not receive any credit or commission from your own purchases.

    If you buy from your own link then you will see the order in your associates area. However, it will get deducted at a later stage. It won't affect you in any way (i.e. they won't ban your account), as it can happen accidentaly.

    Hi mpak 11, it is not similar to clickbank, where you can buy legally through your own affiliate link.

    Amazon makes you buy through their/your aff. link, but you will not receive commision.

    If you really want that 4% savings, get a friend to buy it.

    You can't get any commission for buying with your own affiliate link. As someone suggested above, get someone to buy it and you get the commission. Another thing you must also do is to remind your friends and family to always buy through your link.

    A friend of mine bought a kindle and I got the commission.

    If you work for a big company and ask your colleagues in the same office to buy from your link, you probably won't get the commission just because all of you and your colleagues share the same IP even with different billing/shipping address. Is it true?

    No not true. ISPs like AOL also have shared IPs in this way so its not fair to limit based on this.

    I just signed in to as Amazon Affiliate and came across with this;

    "What is Amazon's policy for Associates placing orders for themselves?
    You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through your own Associates links and will not receive referral fees for such orders. This includes orders for customers, orders on behalf of customers, and orders for products to be used by you, your friends, your relatives, or your associates in any manner."
