I've read the rules, it says you can't get anyone else to bump your thread.. thats fine.. but can you bump your own thread at least once every 24hrs?? Thats how it is in most forums buysell forums, and I think it makes the most sense.. if you couldn't bump your own thread every 24hrs how would u get any exposure, right? and not to mention the rule for other people not bumping ur thread, which means after one day your thread is basically worthless..

Anyway I'd like to know from Mods!

    Thanks!

No, you definitely can't do that.
If your sales thread disappears to page 6 you've just got to accept that no-one's interested.
I'm not a mod so you either believe me or you don't!

Thats ridiculous, because if it moves the to second/third page, it doesn't mean people aren't interested, it means they haven't gotten the chance to even see the thread, because members are online at different times.. For example I just bought a 4870 on RFD which is also a Buy Sell forum, my thread was moved to the third page or so.. and I didn't get a response.. but when I bumped my thread.. I got a couple responses.. So you see, its not because people aren't interested, its just that members come on in different times, so it makes sense to bump your thread every 24hrs..

They should really change the rule!! one bump every 24hrs is quite fair.

The problem is that there are 60,000 active members here, of which probably 5,000 or 6,000 have 'active' threads in the BST forum or sub-forums. If everyone bumped no-one would be any better off.

What you can do, if your thread becomes very old and stale (like 4 or 5 weeks without a response), is ask for it to be closed and reopen a new thread that has a slightly different deal. You can also use your signature space to deep link to your sales threads.

I think it should be allowed, you can do it. But get ready for infraction points...

Well, RedFlagDeals actually has about the same amount of members, and even more users are online then Digital Point, and the rule seems to work very well for RFD Forums.. I think it would for DP aswell..

DP right now has 439 Active users, RFD has 3,320 atm..

It doesn't really matter though, we can all go on about this until the cows come home, but it aint allowed and is not likely to be in the future either. I firmly believe that if you have something worth while that people will want then there is no need for bumps anyway. Also do what a lot of people do, there a better times of the day to post in the BST forum, when more people are likely to see it. That's what I do. For example don't make a post when most of the US are asleep.

I think we should be able to discuss these type of things, and I think that users should be able to give some suggestions, I mean in RFD and other forums I'm signed up with.. People make suggestions, and if enough people really like the idea, then the changes are made, or new forums are added.. Without us DP is nothing :p.
