Making backups of everything you have is always a good idea if you are indeed worried about your data. And its best to make more then 1 copy. 2 - 3 copies is what I would recommend and using different media to do it... ie ... 1 on a CD / DVD and the other on a hard drive or usb drive, for example. Norton isn't the best out there, but it is better then McAfee which others seem to foolishly settle on. I would recommend Kaspersky Internet Security. Been the #1 in Asia and parts of Europe for over 10 years now... Russian made too and as A LOT of junk comes from there... They surely know how to deal with it better.
There are viruses for Linux and Apple. Some of them have even found away to self execute, just as they would on Windows. Granted, you have less of a chance of it happening. But they are out there.
I'm no longer afraid. I now know how to use google and search forums for the solutions. Almost everything is on the net.
i think most of us are afraid of it. this is why i'm using slackware so viruses for windows don't work.
Viruses they are one of the major problems now a days hurdling computer technology. but if you have a good reputable Antivirus like Avira, AVG, Symantac, McCafee. you can fight with these germs of computer.

Not really.. but a little bit.. and that's because i m concerned about my Privacy, i know the ability of a virus, what it can do with you (actually d one whose virus is) there are different types of viruses so my fear depends upon their ability...
I think that we should be careful with viruses, because we don't know for sure the consequences of their damage. Of course they can steal money and information, but also can ruin technique and several devices. So I\m afraid of computer viruses.
