I'm a vegetarian, and it will be 5 years since I stopped eating meat come November. I don't try to push my preferences and beliefs on other people, but it frustrates me when people don't understand why I chose to become a vegetarian and make little jokes about it. If I'm tolerant enough to let them eat meat, I think it only fair that they show me the same respect and realize that by sticking a hamburger under my nose, I'm not going to suddenly want to chow down.

But a balanced vegetarian diet can be a great one for many.
Well, I can assure you that I'm a "healty vegetarian." I've been this way for almost five years, and I definitely did my research before making such a drastic change in my diet. I agree that there can be unhealthy vegetarians when they haven't taken the time to learn to eat properly, but the same can be said for meat-eaters, as well.
I would venture to say that it would be more difficult to give up meat than to stop smoking, for me personally.
I'm vegetarian, but I eat fish and eggs. That Simpsons episode where Lisa goes vegetarian made me turn xP
I used to be vegetarian from birth until 17. That was the time when I was away from my moms kitchen. I had to change, because that time no vegi restaurants.] Pork is dangerous if you eat the indestines and blood of it.
Plus, it has flavor, which sugar does not. I love honey in many different edible capacities - for dipping, sweetening, etc.
