Are You a Sell Out if you Sell Your Site?

So, I recently wrote an article about "Are you a sell out if you were to sell your site? and I got some feedback from some people saying it's a business so they would but then some people said if they have the site for personal reasons they wouldn't.

So my question is: Even if it's a site for personal reasons, would you still sell your site for the right price? For instance, if you started a blog about your life and someone offered you $xx,xxx, would you do it? And if so, are you considered a sell out?

If the sole purpose of the site is to flip it then you're not a sell out. However I would consider one a "sell out" if they were to sell a website that they started for personal reasons i.e. a personal blog. But being considered a sell-out isn't necessarily a derogatory thing. After all, we all have a price.

If it is a community (forum) or web 2.0 (user generate content), i would say it is sell out

It's funny you mentioned that because I heard a forum owner of a pretty popular webmaster forum was selling his for $65,000 or something because he simply did not the time to manage it because of personal issues or whatever. So is he still considered a sell out?

It depends on a sites potential and your passion for it.
Selling your own personal site for some profit is a bit lame, but if I was to sell one of my big sites like my directory it'd be acceptable.

If you sell your site it's simply a business deal, that does not mean that you are a sell out.

So, even if the price was VERY tempting, you still wouldn't sell a personal site?
