Do you mean the google search box?
It is legal to use them. How you are into the thought that it is illegal?

It's only invalid clicks if you click on the paid ads that show in the results page. Otherwise it's just another search.

Many of website uses nowdays the search engines search boxes like from google, msn and from other.

And, this is also a good part when a google logo or any other SE shines on your web-blog or website.

Easy to have and jackburton2006 is right for invalid clicks issue.

Ofcourse you can use them, maybe you are worried about that regulation in TOS that says that you can't show adsense ads on search results page, that rule has nothing to do with putting a search box on your site, you can put it

No, actually, he's worried that him using the Google search on his page is the same as him clicking on his own ads.

    Hi Wentworth,

It's true that using the Google search box on your own page is not a violation of the ToS - only if you click on the sponsored ads on the subsequent page. However, I've seen correspondence from Google (more than once) indicating that they recommend against it, as it artificially inflates the number of searches. Your best bet is to use the Google home page for any Google searches you want to do.

    HTH,
    Sam
