Are we allowed to copy the sales page of the products we're promoting as affiliates, or atleast reword the sales copy?

Why do you want to do that? If you want to copy the sales page, why don't you just send the visitors to the actual sales page itself?

If you don't think the merchant is doing a good job with his sales copy, it's better to send him a mail and see if he will do something about it.

Do you not prefer to do a review or product comparison page?

I don't think any vendor would have problem with that (at least I wouldn't) but this is not good, as the duplicate content will give you less organic traffic.

I think it is much better to write a review or something smaller - but with meaning - article to promote a product instead of rewriting a sales page.

I think he is trying to reword the sales copy so it won't suck so much.( Or atleast change a few errors.) You should ask the merchant.

I want to have a site that has revenue, so I can possibly sell the site for a good amount later on if I choose to move onto something else (promoting another product, etc.)

I'm not sure if it's possible, but I want to make my own sales letter with bits and pieces off the merchants sales page, and want to link to the merchants payment page (through clickbank hop URL) instead of their landing page. Is that possible?

It depends, if you have the product itself already and you master resell rights, most to all of the companies will allow you to use their sale's page unless nofitied otherwise. It's another way to make sure your selling it at the right price. But if your an affiliate, that is where you want the customer to go so no, but you can word your sales letter to lead them up to want is said on the sales page.

there is a code provided in under tools which is under the promote products tab in clickbank where when you add the code on your page it becomes the actual sale's page of the affiliate product. it's different because it leads directly to your affiliate's check out page, so your not killing your sale by repeating the pitch information.

check out this link which is not a published article. I'm about to erase it so check it out as soon as you can. the "not published" part of this is very important. It might get your site banned with content spamming so be cautious, even using pre-written articles to publish that are from the vendor himself/herself might be grounds to be banned. if you want to do this it's fine but going with original content is better.

What if the landing page sucks too much? He should be able to ask the merchant if he can. This is from my own personal experience.

Oh please don't. Even if the vendor allows please do not do that. Most of my successful affiliates never touch my sales copy. Be unique.

vendors usually do not bother if affiliates copy a little portion of their sales page and paste it on their site as a description of his product.

anyhow, if you wish to copy a large portion of the vendor's sales page, better to email the vendor about it or else promote the sales page directly.

This is an example of duplicate content hurting the sales person. It might bring down a ranking of a sale's page, so in the end...don't copy a vendor's sales page. The blog posted above in my comment is being pulled.
