Are We Allowed To Chat About Facebook on DP?

i know digg, stumbleupon, twitter services are not allowed.
but i recently started a new facebook group
am i allowed to make a post about it, letting people know it's available, or does this break the rules?

 

Chatting about it is not an issue as long as its in General Chat or The Underground. You cannot promote your group in any other area. However you also link to it in your signature which will appear in every post you make.

 

Well yes you can discuss anything but just keep put it from BST section, Although you can sell Facebook application on BST section!

 

You may not post about it if it's just to spam a link to get people to your facebook group, or if it's related to any kind of exchange (like following / friending / etc.) for any social media tool.

 

I would assume simply placing it as a signature would be fine.

 

You can talk about facebook but not the group. People talk about Twitter, Digg, etc. all the time, they just are not allowed to sell the services for them anymore.

 

1. Yes, adding the link to your group in your signature is fine.

2. No, do not start a thread solely to link to it to get people to sign up. (link spam)

3. Yes, you may "chat about Facebook." Just do it in the most relevant section. Unless or until a social media section is added here, those discussions will vary. For example, if you want to talk about social media marketing, you would put it in general marketing. If you wanted to talk about setting up a Facebook profile for a business, you could do so in general business.
