I have a site with 27 flash videos. There is a video-sitemap.xml which google has validated. My question is: "does anyone have a video show up in the video search results who does not have a video sitemap."
Thank you thewebhostingdir. I was hoping I would not have to explain in too much detail, but there goes. Google returns my site in the top 10 for all keywords (key phrases). They show site links for some of my keywords, so in the web search area G loves the site. For the first year, the videos also appeared in the video search. Three of the top 10 were mine, and mine was always #1. One day, the site disappeared completely from the video search. It did not even show up for its url as the keyword. It was still in the top ten for the web search. The only thing I could think of was that I had messed up the video sitemap with some duplicate entries, and they were holding this against me. I sent a request for re-inclusion and explained in great detail what I have said here. Google said they processed the request. That was a month ago, and nothing has happened. As I see it these are my options: Do nothing. Delete the sitemap and leave it off for a while. Delete the sitemap and leave it off permenently. So I want to know what will happen if I delete the video sitemap. General wisdom says that a regular sitemap is not necessary to get good SERPS. Perhaps I am shooting my self in the foot by using a video-sitemap.xml at all. So my question is: Does anyone a video show up in the Google video search results who does not have a video sitemap."
