Are .TV domains worth it?

    Hello,

I see a nice domain I was thinking of registering and it is .TV TLD.

I was just wondering if anybody thinks it's worth the $35 reg fee and whether .TV would be ideal, (Do people use .TV when searching?)

    Thanks,

If you have a good quality generic keyword I would say yes. There have been some good .tv sales here lately.

    The questions are,
    • Are these sales by end users
    • Are these sales just from speculators
    • Will these sales prove worthwhile or worthless :)

We purchased 50 keyword rich TV domains 2 years ago. Result, 2 sold for over 2500, many lowball offers turned down, and averages 1 click per day each. If you find a good one, snatch it up. Chances are the name you found, is worth more than the 35 dollars. (Executive pricing at godaddy is only 29 or less.)

    Well, I've reg'd it anyway.

    It was http://www.3mail.tv

I think it's got some potential because it's quite short and catchy. (i hope :p)

don't worry, I believe the .tv is about to blow up and if it's relative to what you are developing it's that much better

Personally, I feel there are a lot better names out there, but wish you the best with your 1st tv name

You can pick up .tv names @ Enom.tv for $24.95, which is the cheapest one I've found.

Depends on the domain if it is really good like Wii.tv or PS3.tv it's awesome but if your just looking to buy the domain and sell an undeveloped domain stay away.
