The .com domain for my new movie-streaming site is not available, but the .tv is. I'm worried the .tv isn't memorable, but I'm having a really hard time picking a domain (btw, if anyone has a suggestion please tell me ) Also, do .tv domains rank worse than .com domains (sorry, I'm not excellent at SEO) Thanks
About memory,it depends on domain names,niches and of course visitors memory ! lol .Com extension is widely used,still at times .TV scores better for generic terms as other TLDs ! Just 4 eg:for online TV/Video sites,online.tv far good than onlinetv.com,I think ! For professional business propose,its better go thorough with .TV,but the .com reservation is must. No SEO does n’t see exactly the TLD extensions,but it sees the quality comparisons in every aspect. Get well !
It depends on your requirements .It is not widely used but definitely will be ,there are so many domains like .me extension
No TLD ranks worse than others, .com is preferred only because more people remember and use it. I would go with the .TV if .com is taken (or get both if .com is not taken).
Actually .tv is the ccTLD of Tuvalu. But it is known as domain used by television broadcasters. In your case, you site is about movie, so .tv is fine. And if the name is very important to you, you should go with .tv domain. Then spend time to do the SEO for your site, you will see cool results. I have no idea how for you .tv isn't memorable, it's very memorable. TV is known as a universal word in all languages. In regards to SEO, the extention doesn't matter, they'll rank the same if you base it on the keyword only.
