I use torrents to download movies......... I am from Bangalore... Are torrents safe to use or there are chances of beings tracked................. and what is law for violating copyright act
If you use private torrents they are more safer than those public sites. I would recommend you not to download any movies mostly because usually they catch people downloading movies. You can also try downloading Peer Gaurdian 2.0 which is specially made to block Ip's when your downloading so your more safer.
Been using torrent forever, I download stuff all the time, and still haven't got caught..The people that get caught are the idiots that download things 24/7..
All someone from the MPAA (or whoever) has to do is download the torrent and then see what IPs their system is connecting to. On windows you just use netstat. Torrents tend to be safer because they're so decentralized. Companies have bigger fish to fry than someone who for all they know is sharing a single file. Other file sharing services make it very easy to see how many files someone is sharing. A company then starts a single download, checks the ip they're connecting to and decides whether or not to pursue it.
The thing with downloading and being caught is if you are a seeder....that is the top way they catch people...don't be a seeder, and you have a better chance of not being caught.
cedar? you mean like someone who has 190 connections to 4K different movies? Shawn (DP) was accused of DL'ing a movie...he got served, big hassle for him I'm sure!
Torrents? yes they are safe unless you are not a seeder as far as i know... also downloading a copyrighted content is illegal in all cases...
meaning that they share the movie after they download it...its the same way the Music Industry was catching people....if you download, don't leave the file in the shared folder....
I think the MPAA is just going after the guys sharing lots of movies, not the people with one or two movies on their hard drive
I love metallica....and I also quit years ago...I was in a band for a while, and I understand now how musicians feel about it...the realization though is it is not the musicians that get screwed, but the recording companies...most up and coming bands will be happy to give away music and do anything that will get their name out there.
i reckon torrents are fairly safe, better downloading a torrent of a program rather than getting it off limewire etc. because u can see whats in the torrent, and u can see comments on it. i only use it for programs and movies, for music limewire is the best
Not true.. I downloaded one movie just to test it out..a month later I got a letter in the mail from my ISP telling me a studio contacted them about my file sharing. I had to send an apology email stating that it was a one time occurance/accident that wouldn't happen again. If I was caught again they could shut down my internet and prosecute me. So sharing movies is not cool.
torrents are as safe as any p2p program. don't dl pirated files and you should be fine I've used eMule for years and had no problems.
I have nothing against purchasing music. What I do have a problem with is buying a $18 for 1 song that I like...of course that's not the case today, I'm just saying wow, nice ISP that they gave you up so quickly. Can you share who it was/is??
