Are too many ads bad? I have ads on 4 high traffic pages but not the homepage. It's FreeMusicStudy dot com. I think the banners improve my pages because they are colorful. I placed then where they are the first thing seen by a visitor. But are they too pushy?
Hi, Well, as you said, if it's "too many ads", then it may be bad Of course that I'm playing with the sentence. This is something that could be discussed with no end, since some people like ads and some don't. I believe that as long as they go along well with the layout, are related with the content (or not, but are from a reliable advertiser), I don't see any problem. Having a website cluttered with ad spots is of course something that I wouldn't do. Best regards, José
Of course that too many ads is bad, but it depends on what you understand by "too many ads" Can you be more specific?
Checked your site, you have great content, just lack web design skills. You're not using adsense? If you've just started then you should try adsense first.
Usually. I really hate it when there are pop ups and advertisements all over the site, it really makes me want to leave the site. But I don't mind the occasional banners or google ads, those are practically on every popular site you go to nowadays. Just don't cover your page up with Evony ads... those are the worst.
Actually some real musicians don't like pushy ads. I tend to agree so I took them off. I added some embeded YouTube Videos to improve the site design. You can make a site like FreeMusicStudy.com and then when the visitor clicks he sees an ad for "JamPlay.com" That wasn't a good idea even if the banners were attractive. So what I will do know is improve the content with free videos, drive in traffic and then sell ads (in less visible parts of the site). Forget jamplay or at least move the ads to other less visible parts of the site.
Actually the YouTube Videos are ads but I get no money for them (but lots of traffic). People don't mind the ads on the YouTube Video because the videos are so good.
