Hi,someone told me to do forum posting backlinks with not anchor text, the anchor text will be the domain name itself. The forums will be in USA but the website will be in and rank in europe The forums are very old and with a lot of traffic Are those backlinks good to increase rankings or not? The positions the website has are 4-11 on many keywords I am trying to find some natural backlinks to boost rankings on top Thanks
Forum links are only beneficial if you're an active user with some presence and the forum should be related to your field somehow.
The best backlinks are the ones that ou have nothing to do with creating: the ones that are given editorially because of the quality of your content. The search engines are constantly tweaking their algorithms to reward sites with those sorts of links.
You need to be careful - if your backlink profile is only made up of sig links and 1000's of them with no stronger links that will raise a flag to google. Whereas a strong diverse backlink profile with a few forum links from related sites sprinkled in will be fine.
As far as ranking on Google, the forum links are next to useless. But for if you care more about 3rd party tools, DA/PA, etc, then every link seems to count.
Google does seem to place importance on the total number of referring domain names, so it maybe that sig links done if the right way count towards this total and therefore give an indirect benefit. It is important to select strong forums with a high DA score rather than weak ones.
Don't waste your time in forum posting for the backlinks. Do some quality works for the quality backlinks or natural links. Forums are not for building the backlinks.
you will still have anchor text - your domain name. Is it good or not? For successful seo campaign try to replicate natural user behavior, sometimes people use naked links, sometimes anchor text, very rarely people use anchors like ' buy xxx product online' think about it.
Also don't believe people who say forum links are useless, yes most forums are no=follow, but some are do=follow and they carry good value as long as they are contextual and relevant.
