I saw this deal on flippa... 2 websites in the sell, one with a premium 2 word domain, unique content...blablabla http://flippa.com/auctions/93545/iPad-and-iPhone-Resources-Sites-Package--Unique-Content--Huge-Bonus--1-DAY-Only But i am not sure about the niche... What are your thoughts ? Is it worth buying? Thanks
the website looks like very pretty, if all contents of this website is unique and high-quality and search engine-friendly, it think you can take a consider, but some other questions you also need to judge that how many unique contents this website have? how long it have built? how much pv and ip ervery month? you should know setting up a website is not diffcult, but a inventive and high-quality website you can't estimate its cost in the future.
Ya, definitely those are some parameters that need to be taken into consideration when buying a website. I'm still not sure about the ipad/iphone niche...how profitable, competitive is? ...at least there is some more time to think as the auction is being extended.
It is like a blog with software products. What is your plan with it after you get it? If you want to change its content greatly, I think you need a new domain.
Building a suitable business plan will be really important if you want to have success with these (or any other projects). Think about the approach that you will be taking.
Honestly I cannot see what I'd do with the domain name "iPhoneReviews" (Unless your only going to review the 3/4 iPhones available on the market), and "iPadAppsPlus" (Which, really doesn't ring any ideas to me)
if you make a site visually attractive like the one you have mentioned, and are able to get a lot of traffic, of course it is worth buying.
It might be me being paranoid, however I would be thinking of asking these questions, if these are such good websites, then why are they being sold? How much of the traffic that comes to the website actually generates a profit? My thought is, if I had a gem of a website I know I wouldn't be selling it off.
good point but maybe the owner need money as soon as possible. its a nice site. its well designed but isn't a word iphone a trademark?
Good points are given. Personally, I would not jump too many major hurdles. 1. If the website were 6 to 10 years old, then it has Google stability, and can climb quickly regardless of name 2. You are dealing with a giant company on that name. The current owner may have already received a cease and desist order. Plus you are competing with the giants of unlimited budgets. 3. Playing in the big arena always means tough competition, not profits. The guy selling peanuts outside the arena often makes more. 4. Find yourself a "niche" area, it is easier to become the big fish in a small pond
Many are in the business of just designing and developing startup sites like this for a quick buck. You have to assume alot of work when aquiring a startup sites. Building traffic, finding keywords, advertising, etc.
My friend had a website that earned him $500 per month. That's $6k per year. But he was going to be evicted from his apartment for not paying his rent, so he sold his site for $8k. Sometimes, the webmaster needs money. And they buyer gets and easy revenue source. Both people can benefit.
