I have seen many services on DP advertising directory submission services for as little as $5. And they seem to be getting good response as well. Are these really done manually by going to each directory and submitting each site? I understand that many of these services are from developing countries but seems like it'll take a long time to complete each service. I am assuming that they are using some kind of automated software for submission. Anyone has any insight? Thanx.
Manual. You can get an extension for firefox that will automatically fill in the form of 99% of the sites when you go there. I think that's about as manual as it gets. Plus they're from other countries where American money goes a lot further.
One can never say. While many use just a form filler and everything else manual including category selection, I have reservations about many other who use just automated softwares. Once I got 15 submissions in 3 mins on one of my free directories from the same IP. It was definitely not manual. Its another mater that I had to turn it into a paid directory due to those automated submissions.
I have a niche site where I get somewhere between 10 and 20 submissions a week to the root category from sites that have absolutely no relevance to my niche. A huge percentage of those are from "SEO companies" for their clients and for the SEO'ers themselves. Not really an impressive showing by these folks. One of these companies submitted a site that was indeed in my niche, but the listing was full of spelling and other errors - they even spelled the location of the company wrong. Again, not all that impressive. I have heard there are a couple of folks who do appear to provide a fairly decent service here on DP, but even then, do you want 500 submissions with exactly the same linked text, description, and category choice?
The normal rate for directory submission is around $4-$5 for 100 directories So it would be not manual
I'm not sure, going by the submissions I get. But the most pertinent question is, are these submissions going to be good value in any case? If the submitter does not speak your language very well, then they definitely won't be because he or she won't be able to read the submission guidelines.
I would say they might do it manually but they will submit in directories that have really low Alexa rating which will not help as much as other high Alexa directories. go to http://www.sociallive.com/directory and register you site today this site will blow up so will its directory...
good question. No they are not manual as far as i can think because i am certain almost everyone will prove to you that they submitted your site to all the directories they claimed. I have tried a couple services before (the cheap ones) just to get an idea how manual it is. Report comes some what like this Submission successful: 376 directories Submission unsuccessful: 124 directories Directories unreached: xxx directories etc etc here followed by directory list with a pr. Each directory is color coded ... green for success ; red for failure ; blue for unreached. Now tell me how many of you would submit manually !! and provide a tabled layout with color coded for 1000 directories ?? umm i dont think anyone would for 10$. thats good enough answer i believe
The manual submission process is very time consuming even with the assistance of tools that save on retyping the site info. The time consuming part is searching through the directory for the most appropriate category. You also have to look out for other things like: Someone submitting to duplicate directories, perhaps on the same IP. In the worst case, these can be using the same database.
I believe when you hire a manual submitter you should get a list of the directories. What i do is, I find a list of random directories, and then tell the person to submit to them. Usally the scammer says "No thank" or makes up some stupid excuse. Also you shouldnt really spend money.
Base on most experiences here, it looks like most of the directory submitters are using some sort of automation SW. That was my hunch anyway. Thanx.
