When I go on Google.. and type in Boston real estate... 2 sites come up in the top 5: Bush | ari.com Ant | hjames.com Bush | ari .com also ranks #1 for Boston Luxury Real Estate I looked at their sites, and made 2 observations --- please check it out and tell me if im wrong! 1) Anth | James.com looks like 100% Black Hat SEO - Keyword stuffing - Black writing on black background What do you guys think? 2) Bush | ari.com looks like theyre high on the rankings, due to the linking network they have all over the world, Hawaii real estate, Singapore --- all this link trading - Is that Black Hat SEO? or is it perfectly fine to do? Also any other suggestions why both rank so high? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its not entirely black hat seo, its more of a grey hat seo,, pun there on the gray typing..no seriously its a gray hat, it's not for a surfer to read is it ??? Anyway instead of spending your time moaning about the competition just blow them out of the water by working on your own site,, Im sure a high ranking, even first place for a keyword phrase like Boston real estate is quite acheiveable within 6 - 8 weeks.
Hello --- theres no complaining over here --- and im not mad they're in the top spots even though they are my competition ---they're minor competition -- and Im wondering if those are Black Hat SEO tactics (im new to SEO) My website isnt completed yet -- it is being worked on now -- And I can't wait until its done --- and have been studying SEO for the last few months --- and I love it!!! One thing im wondering about these 2 guys.... do you think they can be penalized?.... Anth | James looks like a definite pentalty waiting to happen --- but I dont care about him -------- the Bush | ari one --- that one --- do you think, from having those tons of links from these out of state real estate companies --- they can get penalized??? Thanks!!
Right now.... I dont have a website yet.... its literally just starting to be built now.... we just got through with the mockups for the 1st page............ in the meantime ive been reading about SEO... and analyzing the SERP's ...... and I think thats an extremely good way to learn --- seeing what sites are acutally at the top ----
If we are to believe what we've heard from supposed authorities in the past, both these methods (keyword stuffing and black writing on black background) carry penalties.
You could always be sneaky and draw it to googles attention by filing a spam report, its all above board...but best to do it once your site is starting to climb, once you get onto the first page then look at the competition, check out their SEO and even their linking strategies.
