Hey, On a new site I made, Google just showed that I have like 1,400 backlinks in the "webmaster tools". Does that mean that I do have 1,400 backlinks according to Google?? For instance, one comment that I made in an .edu blog ended up with like 100 backlinks. I don't understand how, but it did. My links ended up being placed all over that blog. Does that mean that each of these backlinks are valid, in Google's eyes? Yahoo shows a lot more backlinks, of course, but I was surprised that Google showed this many all of a sudden. I just want to know if these are valid backlinks, as far as Google is concerned, which will be used in their algo to determine my serp. Thanks all! :O)
Google updates backlinks before PR mostly, yahoo backlinks are dynamic. If that webmaster tool is based on yahoo then no use in google. If google is showing and tool based on google then yes you have backlinks with out no-fallow. If your comments on edu blogs are revelant with no-fallow tag then they helps in serps.IF all comments come from same domain then it will help little , if different then helps lot.
Actually these backlinks you see are not all the backlinks.... Only large percentage of it was displayed...
the backlinks displayed by Google are in random (and it doesn't necessarily mean that the displayed links are the quality ones)
They show in google's webmaster tools. I guess they are backlinks, as far as google is concerned. thanks guys! :O)
If that was from google's webmaster tools, then it's a backlinks from google and remember that google will not show all backlinks you have in your site..
gotcha... thank you but we/I still don't know if google gives each backlink credit in its algo... correct?
