    I agree with Skaterkee. Target long tail keywords to start with. You can break in to any niche if you want too.

    There is space for everyone in affiliate marketing. What you need is to go in the right direction. There are many niches with very low competition you may start with, but if you are more experienced affiliate marketer you may participate in very competitive short keywords.

    I'd imagine that the average newbie doesn't stick around for very long. I'd say if you can get past the first few failures and learn from them, you'll find that its far less crowded.

    howdy - i'm just starting out with internet marketing but i definitely don't think its crowded. You can make a good bit of money doing it. You will make a lot of mistakes in the beginning, so it important to just keep trying and learning from your mistakes. And of course, you must provide something of value to your target audience, whomever that may be. Unique + Valuable + Learning from Mistakes = Success. Just my 2 cents.
