If there are SEO Secrets, I'm sure seo gurus will just keep it with them. I know there are lots of SEO gurus who earn a lot of money and i don't think they will share it that easy to other people.

If there really are secrets why should we tell you?

The real secrets most be in the black hat camp, but I don't use blackhat techniques so there are also no secrets for me.

I think the real secret is buzz, customer to customer marketing. But of course that requires knowledge of the marketing techniques which are required to stimulate that and not everybody takes the time to get skilled in that.

Who Said seo is a trick? There is no tricks its an art which everyone needs to understand.
Ppl think its really easy to do seo which in really is hard when we have separate categories.
Making 1 or 2 sites on top doesn't make sense at all, as its a vast and long process which takes time and there is no surety as on one hand google is trying to make changes as much as possible making it much more difficult.

SEO Strategies must be applied to get on top and only thorough research and hardcore analysis for which again lots of time needs to be spend. Behavior research, trends, search analysis, long tail keys and much more is there. So its a vast process but still ppl thinks SEO is easy and anyone can do it.
My answer is strictly no anyone who wants to really make it must spend his entire time on the given campaign and at the same time needs to face stiff competition.

Its about research, perfection and quality there is no trick so just avoid it.

This is the perfect example of a message that presents SEO as something complexe but without saying why it is. Give me ONE example of a technique that is not well known or that only a profesionnal SEO guru can master. Of course getting backlinks takes time.. But you don't have to be a SEO profesionnal to do it, the only thing it requires is good communication skills and time!

By the way, thanks everybody for your replies.

Yeah SEO isn't so complex. There are lots of good SEO resources on the Web that explains commonly used techniques and if you are willing to learn and have enugh endurance, you are able to do the SEO by yourself. However I still think that hiring a professional or at least consulting your SEO strategy with SEO experts is essential. Their have been active in the industry for years and their comprehensive experience can help you perfect your strategy or find some mistakes in it.

But there really aren't any SEO secrets. If you are confident and hardwoking, you can learn everything relatively soon.

Google has no way to know how long you registered your domain for so that is irrelevant.

Actualy as a domain registrar, Google does have access to the WHOIS database, so yes, they would know. Not like it matters anyway since search engines rank documents (such as images and Web pages), not Web sites or domains. The data concerning the domain name (registrar information, age, and so forth) would be used as a quality control measure, not ranking.

Yep there is one, and it is known as Trust Rank. :)

Your trust rank is the ultimate authority which decides the actual search engine rankings of your website.
